I'M RIA
I hold a Master’s degree in Human Centered Design and Engineering, Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, a certificate in professional photography, work experience in UX design and data analysis, and 19 prize certificates in art through school (my mom decided to save them all).
MY JOURNEY TO THIS DAY
I once entered two flower arrangement competitions (yes, you read that right) in school because I was into ikebana at the time and thought floral designs and structural geometry was cool. Wanting to pursue visual art using a technical approach, I took up mechanical drawing in high school and learnt all about isometric circles, chamfered edges and how to write Pearl Jam in perfect 3D. This goaded me to dive deeper into engineering, and I went on to pursue a bachelor's degree in it. To satisfy my need to stay involved in design in some way, I got involved in the college cultural committee and ultimately headed the Arts and Visual Communication committee for most of my time at college. After graduating with flying colors I ventured into data analysis for supply chain management at a SaaS company, and ended up making tiny changes in the software's generic UI to align it closely to my client's requirements.
It was then at long last when I found my calling.
Design. Engineering.
My journey has taken a meandering path, but that's what makes it truly unique. My artistic bent of mind was always supported on an analytical frame of thoughts. I have come to believe that good design feels natural and intuitive like an extension of our thoughts, yet something that is dynamic and checked for errors so that it can sustain itself, like a living entity. I am now dedicated to designing user experiences and studying human-computer interactions.
